Invasive Species Removal

This collaborative effort brings together the Alamo Area and Guadalupe Chapters of Texas Master Naturalists to remove invasive species that compete with native plants and disrupt our local ecosystem. With support from the Native Plant Society of Texas—San Antonio Chapter, we're making real progress in habitat restoration!

9 - 11:00 a.m.: Invasive Species Removal

Join volunteers in removing invasive plants along Salado Creek. Expert naturalists will guide you on proper removal techniques and answer questions about invasive vs. native species.

Optional - After 11 a.m.: 2.5-Mile Nature Walk & Survey

For those interested in extending their visit, enjoy a guided nature walk and informal survey of the site to identify other invasive species and native plants worth celebrating.

All ages and experience levels welcome! Children must be supervised by adults.

What to Bring & Expect:

Required:

• Closed-toe shoes or boots (REQUIRED for safety)

Recommended:

• Work gloves (bring your own, or limited extras available)

• Reusable water bottle (refill available)

• Trash bags and litter grabbers will be provided

• If available, bring your own hand tools or loppers (supplies provided)

Come prepared for outdoor work! Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing you don't mind getting dirty.

Important Information:

Weather Policy: In case of inclement weather or cancellations, participants will be notified via email by Friday at 6:00 PM.

Facilities: Restrooms are not available on-site. Nearest facilities are located at the Salado Creek Trailhead adjacent to the property.
