About this event

Your commission can help a family keep their home. At SALSA’s TODD Clinic, volunteer attorneys and law students prepare Transfer on Death Deeds for low-income homeowners — a document that allows a home to pass directly to a loved one without probate. A Transfer on Death Deed is only valid once it’s properly notarized and recorded, which is why volunteer notaries are essential to the clinic.

What You’ll Do

• Verify each client’s identity and witness the signing of their Transfer on Death Deed

• Complete the acknowledgment and affix your stamp and seal

• Record each notarization in your journal

What to Bring

Your notary stamp or seal, your journal, and your current commission. Clients arrive with valid photo identification, and SALSA staff will guide you through the clinic flow.

No legal background required. You’ll work alongside volunteer attorneys who handle all drafting and client advice — your role is simply to make each deed official. It’s a meaningful way to serve your community in a single session.
