About this event

Join us for From Clot to Recovery, a multidisciplinary educational symposium focused on advancing the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of pulmonary embolism (PE) and venous thromboembolism (VTE).

PE management is evolving rapidly. From early recognition and risk stratification to catheter-based therapies, mechanical thrombectomy, surgical embolectomy, ECMO, and multidisciplinary Pulmonary Embolism Response Teams (PERT), clinicians now have an expanding range of treatment options across the spectrum of disease severity.

This case-based program brings together experts in Interventional Cardiology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Interventional Radiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Hematology-Oncology, and ECMO to explore contemporary best practices in VTE care.

The symposium concludes with a firsthand patient perspective on recovery after pulmonary embolism, followed by discussion and Q&A. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Whether you care for PE patients in the emergency department, intensive care unit, catheterization laboratory, operating room, or outpatient setting, From Clot to Recovery offers practical insights applicable across the continuum of VTE care.

The University of Texas at San Antonio is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
