Ballet San Antonio | The Nutcracker

About this event

Celebrate the magic of the season with Ballet San Antonio’s spectacular production of The Nutcracker—a cherished holiday tradition for families across South Texas.

Co-choreographed by Haley and Easton Smith, this enchanting production brings together professional dancers, talented students from the School of Ballet San Antonio, and young performers from across Bexar County. The performance comes vividly to life with live music by The Orchestra San Antonio and community members in the iconic role of Mother Ginger.

The story begins on Christmas Eve in the Stahlbaum home, where Clara receives a magical Nutcracker from her mysterious godfather, Drosselmeyer. When midnight strikes, the ordinary world transforms—toy soldiers come to life, the Mouse Queen leads an army into battle, and Clara embarks on a magical journey with the Nutcracker Prince.

Their adventure carries them through the sparkling Land of Snow and into the dazzling Land of Sweets, where the Sugar Plum Fairy welcomes them with breathtaking dances from around the world.

Filled with beloved characters, dazzling costumes, and unforgettable music, The Nutcracker captures the wonder, imagination, and joy of the holiday season.
